Discipline: Friend or Foe?
Hello friend! 👋
I’m a big fan of willpower and have read about this superpower extensively.
My one-sentence summary of literally thousands of pages on the topic is this:
Discipline is freedom.
Having the ability to trust yourself to do what you say you will do, gives you the freedom to pursue anything you want in life.
And it turns out that it doesn't have to weigh you down. Here's how to transform your relationship with discipline:
• Use willpower to tackle big tasks first
• Gamify the process to stay engaged
• Celebrate the smallest victories
• Recommit, not quit, after failing
• Break big goals into micro-actions
• Clarify the 'why' behind each action
It is all about building the system and momentum to support consistency.
And consistency trumps intensity, any day!
