Hello friend! 👋
Today’s post wraps up the month, and I thought of using this time to pause and recap what we talked about this month.
If you’ve not been able to read all the letters, this may be a chance to do so if the topics interest you.
Let’s dive straight in:
First, living a strength-focused life:
Your character strengths communicate what you deeply find valuable
Use strengths actively to bring more purpose and meaning to your work
Be aware of over and under-use of strengths and maintain “The Golden Mean”
Notice and acknowledge strengths in people you love for a deeper connection
Second, making hope happen:
Have a clear goal, be specific, and make a decision (Latin de-caedre)
Activate your agency and confidence by taking action and celebrating wins
Define clear and different pathways toward the goal
Know that there will always be challenges; the game is played at a high level by developing strategies to overcome and celebrate those challenges, not avoid them.
Third, the science of agency (confidence)
5 evidence-based ways to build agency are Experiences, Role Modeling, Persuasion, Physiological+Emotional States, Visualization
Build confidence in your kids by allowing them to experience and discover
Build confidence in yourself by respecting your self-image (celebrate small wins and be compassionate when you make mistakes - you, like everyone else, are not perfect)
There’s power in starting small; it creates momentum. One actual small step is better than a massive imaginary leap.
This wraps it up; dig deeper by clicking the link to each of the posts.
Have a Super Sunday!
With much joy,
Hashim
