🎉 8-week MBSR course is done! Here's my reflection:

Big celebrations today; we’ve just completed the 2nd cohort of the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program! 🎉
A beautiful collection of minds from Italy, Germany, Jamaica, UK, US, and Canada. All coming together with passion for personal growth.
As the participants shared their reflections on the last 8 weeks, there was much to be celebrated:
The wonder, confusion, wisdom, courage, compassion, and most of all, the deep connection.
My heart was filled with warmth and gratitude hearing how each participant developed skills to help them not just in working skillfully with stress, but in life as a whole (as parents, managers, partners, friends, and humans engaging with this delicate life).
Here are 6 thoughts that are alive for me right now:
Find your strengths, cultivate and train them often, and you’ll create your unique (genius) work.
Doing work in service to others is the fastest way to find purpose and meaning in the work we do.
Mindfulness is such a beat up word (and concept), it takes a lot of effort to filter through the noise.
I’m 37 this year, and I have just (officially) started a whole other journey in my life. It’s never too late to do meaningful work.
True mindfulness practice is truly transformational, while the course is on stress reduction, participants always share that they learn skills for life. That’s powerful!
Sometimes, when you’re stuck in the busyness of it all, it may feel like the wheel isn’t turning. Don’t give up, stick to the process, and the outcome becomes an inevitable by-product.
Through this I am now getting my certification and license as an MBSR teacher from the Center for Mindfulness - University of California San Diego.
Big milestone. Celebrating this and the many classes at 3:30 AM. 👏
(I still recall, contemplating which university to apply for 24 months ago; Brown or UCSD? Ended up going for both, and here we are! 😁)
I plan to explore further depths into the science of mindfulness and its true applications in our day-to-day lives.
To help people flourish so they help others around them flourish as well.
